I have a few things to say on your dislikes.
How do you hate porn? And Trigun FTW.

As a Catholic I'm opposed to any kind of deviant sexual practices, which pornograhy promotes. I'm not against sex, or appreciation of the female body (as you may have gathered from some of my micros), but I do object to such blatant objectification of sexual intercourse.

And yeah, Trigun for the win.

Ah, this is why I stopped believing in all that crap. Too many rules. XD
But I do agree on the objectification issue, it's kind of disgusting. I try to only look at stuff that's not too messed up.
But why all the hate on other anime and manga? XD

Without rules you think you've got a whole lot freedom. But then you find out that everyone thinks that they're as free as you. Then you get anarchy. But I'm not here to preach. ;)

As for the anime/manga issue, there are certain things I admire about them as opposed to traditional western animation (for example that you can tell mature and involving stories about something other then princesses and singing animals) but once again it all comes down to aesthetic taste. I was raised on saturday morning cartoons and disney movies. I'd choose the fliudness and expressiveness of western animation over the stilted and stylized eastern vareity any day. Not that I don't think it has it's merits. I loved Trigun to death (again in part because of the unusually smooth animation) and there are a few other series I count as having redeming aspects. But on the whole I find the greater part of the stories to be too bizzare, the characters usually drawn from stereotypes, and the yaoi/yuri fangirls to be overwhelming :P

But maybe that's just me, eh?

I just think I don't need a written book of rules, I'm pretty capable of knowing right and wrong without fearing damnation.
And well it could also be Trigun was heavily based off Western Animation. The Author was a big fan of Western Comic Books (Horse shit and Gunsmoke being a big part of the story. Movev being Venom backwards, etc.).

I never realized that about Monev begin Venom backward. Cool. And yeah, the setting of Trigun was one of the most fun parts about it. I love retro futurism, I love westerns and I love giant guns, especially giant revolvers! BTW, did you that the the creator is a Japanese Catholic? ;)

Yeah, I read some of the author interviews. He's a big fan of comics. Especially Marvel villains. Hence the previously stated Monev/Venom.
Did not. That's pretty cool.
